             Tipu's Fort, Palakkad
The Tipu's Fort, also known as Palakkad Fort, stands in the heart of Palakkad town. Palakkad is a small town on the lower edges of the Sahyadri ranges of the Western Ghats, with patches of dense forests and crisscrossed with rivers.
One of the well preserved forts in south India, Tipu's Fort was constructed in 1766 AD and is today a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India. The sober majesty of the laterite walls of the fort reminds one of the old tales of valour and courage.
The fort was built by Hyder Ali (1717 - 1782), the emperor of Mysore province (now part of Karnataka State), supposedly to facilitate communication between both sides of the Western Ghats, (Coimbatore and the West Coast). He had captured the Malabar and Kochi regions which come under the West Coast area. His son Tipu Sultan (1750 - 1799) a warrior as well as a linguist was known as the 'Tiger of Mysore'. Tipu waged a series of wars against the British colonial rule.
In 1784, after an eleven-day seige, the fort was captured by the British under Colonel Fullerton. Though it later fell into the hands of the troops of the Kozhikode Zamorin, it was recaptured by the British in 1790. Tipu Sultan lost his life in 1799 in an encounter with the British and the fort later came to be known in his name.

Hi friends, If you have a promising growth share in mind, and you are only looking for an opportune moment and price for buying it, then the best time to do so would be around the middle of its accounting year. Suppose a company’s accounting year ends on 31st December, then the best time to buy its shares would be around June. This is the time when most investors and stock market operators lose interest in the share. The enthusiasm aroused by the previous years working result wanes, dividends have been distributed and there is nothing to look forward to except the current years working results, which appear too distant to arouse much excitement. This is the best time for picking up the share at a relatively low price- it may even close to its lowest recorded price of the year.

Share price usually record a sharp rise just before an expansion project of a company goes into commercial production. If you are a buyer, then you should do your buying a month or so before this happens. On the other hand, if you are a seller you should sell a couple of months after the plant goes into commercial production so that you can take full advantage of that price rise.

Companies often issue press-release about their expansion plans, diversification plans, plans to issue better-selling new products, rising order book position and proposals to issue bonus shares, right shares, and right convert able debentures etc. News of this nature has bullish effect on share prices. Therefore, if you want to buy shares in such a company, do not delay placing a buy order with your broker. Ideally it would be best if you buy the shares on the same day as the news item first appeared in the news papers. The same rule should be followed when companies release their half yearly working results to the press, indicating improved performance.

Buying a share immediately on receiving a favourable news item is a good timing decision. It works most of the time. But it is even better, if you can buy in anticipation of a favourable news item or in anticipation of a favourable market development. For example, it is always better to buy a share in anticipation of a liberal bonus or rights issue rather than immediately after the news announcement of such issue.

Keep a watch on the performance of similar companies operating in the same industry group? For example if Ceat and MRF announce favourable operating results, then the chances are that other Tyre companies will also come out with improved performances. Use this information to improve the timing of your purchase decisions by buying shares of those Tyre companies in anticipation of an improved performance. In this way you can substantially improve your investment performance by staying ahead of, and outrunning the crowd.

Wish you good luck.                                                         See you later.

One of the first miracles in my life was when I was just 11 year's old, when
my mother picked me up from school, my father was with her. My mother was
crying a little, so I asked her why?  She then told me that she had terminal
cancer.  What is cancer, I said she then told me.  Watching her go down hill
for the first six months, she began teaching me how to get my younger sister's
ready for school, guided me in how to cook for the family.  We all would
gather around and pray each night for a miracle. My mother was searching
to find someone to come and anoint her.  She found that church, and they
came out and anointed her. Each day she began getting better and better.
Well, that was 50 years ago and she's still telling me what to do!

TOURISM- GODS OWN COUNTRY TOURIST SPOT- Kuruvadweep - a group of islets in Wayanad

Located about 14 km east of Mananthavady in the northern district of Wayanad, Kuruvadweep is a group of islets forming 950 acres of evergreen forest. These islets are located in one of the tributaries of the River Kabani, which is close to the border with the State of Karnataka.

There are three prominent islets among the group, where one would come across a variety of vegetation, some rare orchids and wild flowers. One of these main islands contain two small fresh water lakes These islets are also haven for migratory birds, whose activities break the otherwise silent environs of these beautiful islets. The avian life here includes hornbills, parrots and a host of butterfly species.

Some of these islets have massive trees, the boughs of which at some places stoop down and caress the river water. The whole of Kuruvadweep has a unique eco-system worth exploring for nature lovers. Those who venture into these islets needs to refrain from actions that would hamper the environment.

For those with a bent for trekking can make the most of it by heading for Kuruvadweep, while it is an exciting proposition for those carving for some blissful and serene moments; and for some it is definitely a place where one can get under the cool shades of big trees and listen to the lullaby of the gurgling river.

Hi Friends,   Why would I choose stocks?

Stocks are one of the most effective tools for building wealth, as stocks are a share of ownership of a company.  You thus have great potential to receive monetary benefits when you own stock shares.  Owning stocks of fundamentally strong companies simply lets your money work harder for you since they appreciate in value over a period of time while also offering rich dividends on a periodic basis.

What instruments are traded in the stock markets?

There are various types of instruments traded in the stock market.  They include shares, mutual funds, IPOs, futures and options.

 Where do I buy stocks?

Stock trading happens on stock exchanges.  However, you cannot buy directly at the exchange.  To buy stocks, you need to find a suitable broker who will understand your needs and buy stocks on your behalf.  You can think of them as agents who will conduct transactions for you without actually owning any of the securities themselves.  In exchange for facilitating or executing a trade, brokers will charge you a commission.

                                             Do Not Worry

Psalm 37:1-40
"Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. ... "

In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities:  Integrity, Intelligence and Energy.  And if they don’t have the first, the other two will kill you.

I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career.  I have lost almost 300 games.  Twenty six times, I have been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.  I have failed over and over and again in my life.  And that is why I succeed.  (Michael Jordan – Athlete 1963).

Man is not finished when he is defeated.  He is finished when he quits.
A slip of the foot you may soon recover, but a slip of the tongue you may never get over. (Benjamin Franklin).

Change can come in either of two important ways:  Start behaving positively or stop behaving negatively. (Dr. Phil).

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.  (Helen Keller).

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future or not to anticipate troubles but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.

No one tears a piece off a new coat to patch up an old coat.  If he does, he will have torn the new coat, and the piece of new cloth will not match the old.  Nor does anyone pour new wine into used wineskins, because the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will pour out, and the skins will be ruined.  Instead, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins.  And no one wants new wine after drinking old wine.  ‘The old is better, he says.               (Bible).

TOURISM--11 Things you need to pack for your Goa trip/ BEWARE

written by MovingShoe

If you’re planning a Goa vacation to enjoy the best of its beaches and parties during the Sunburn Festival, do read this post before packing your bags for the trip. Goa is a place, completely for outdoor fun activities and water sports.
Here are some of my recommendations for your Goa trip.
1. Sunscreen
You are not going to Goa for enjoying your complete time inside a Casino. Goa is popular for the outdoor activities and hence sunscreen is very much required. Get a good sunscreen that does not make you sweat, since you’re going to be quite hot and sweaty from all that partying. Always prefer branded sunscreens when it comes for your skin protection.
2. Sunglasses
Needless to stay, but inevitable in Goa. It will protect your eyes from harsh sun rays as well as sand in the beaches. They are also make for great cover-ups for sleepy or hung-over eyes. People have the habit of staring others when it’s an open beach, so sunglasses will make you comfortable there also. Be a good guy like me.
3. First Aid Box
Goa will be completely packed with outdoor fun activities and chances are there for medical emergencies. Pack in some basic medicines for headaches, colds, tummy runs and the like. If you are a hardcore party animal, it might be a good idea to have some OTC anti-hangover pills on you.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:  a time to be born, and a time to die;  a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;  a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek and a time to lose ; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love ,  and a time to hate;  a time for war, and a time for peace. Hi, Friends,
mid-cap and Small –cap stocks:- Stocks are categorized by market capitalization. The market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the current price of the Stock with the number of outstanding Shares in the market. The large cap stocks are Shares of high market capitalization, the small cap ones have a low market capitalization and the mid cap ones fall in between these two. Stock market indices are also built on the basis of market capitalization

Blue chip Shares:- The shares of companies which have a consistent track record and are doing exceedingly well compared with other companies are known as Blue Chip Shares. Sensex & Nifty consist of blue chip companies. The price movement of these companies have an impact on the indices. They are market leaders and have the potential to influence the market. Some examples are SBI, Reliance, HDFC, ONGC, Infosys, TCS, and WIPRO etc.

Growth shares:-Stock that has a higher rate of growth in profitability than the Industry growth rate are referred to as growth shares. For example, the Nifty had given a negative return of over 9% in 2011. Hindustan Liver outperformed the Nifty index with 32% gain in 2011. Another FMCG firm ITC gained nearly 16%

Income Shares:- These stock belongs to companies that have stable operations and pay regular dividends. JB Chemicals given dividend of 2050% in March2012 and HCL Info gave 400% dividend in the same period. Page Industry, ONGC,Tata group companies ,R.Com,ITC WIPRO and Infosys also have strong dividend policies.

Defensive shares:- These type of shares are relatively unaffected by market movements. For example, a lot of Pharmaceutical stocks posted returns even in the period of slow down, The pharmaceutical industry, owing to the inherent nature of its demand is not affected by downturn in the economy.

Cyclical Shares:- The business cycle affects cyclical shares. The upward and downward movements of the business cycle affect the business prospects of certain companies and their stock prices. Such shares provide low to moderate current yield. The capital gain may be highly variable. For example, the automotive sector stocks are affected by business cycles.

Speculative Shares:- Shares that have a lot of speculative trading in them are referred to as speculative shares. During the bull and bear phase of the market, this type of shares attracts the attention of the traders. Stock which falls under one category in one period may switch over to another category in another period. The classification should not be considered rigid. For example, growth shares may be speculative shares.

This article will be continued later..My friends please remember, if you born poor, it is not your mistake, but if you die poor, it is your mistake. So work hard wisely and make wealth in straight way.

SHARE MARKET-- What is the difference between a bear market and a bull market?

The terms “bull” and “bear” markets are often used to describe how stock markets are doing in general—whether they are appreciating or depreciating in value.
Bull Market
A bull market occurs when the economy is doing well—unemployment is low, GDP is high, and stocks are rising. If people are optimistic, believing that stocks will rise, they are called “bulls.”
Bear Market
On the other hand, a bear market is when the economy is NOT doing well— unemployment is high, and a recession is approaching. If people are pessimistic, believing that stocks are going to drop, they are called “bears.”
History of Bull and Bear Markets
Bull markets typically tend to last much longer and have much greater returns than bear markets. Because bear markets are so short and severe, it’s impossible to get out in time consistently. In many cases, by the time people realize they’re in a bear market and start to get nervous, they’re probably closer to the beginning of a bull market.
What to do?
In a bull market, investors should take advantage of rising prices by buying early and then selling later when the prices have reached their peak. During a bull market, investors can invest in more equity with a higher probability of making a return.
In a bear market, the chances of loss are greater because prices are continually losing value. Investors are better off short selling or making safer investments, such as fixed-income securities.

Paradesi synagogue (Photo credit: CC BY Wouter Hagens/Wikipedia public domain)

This synagogue was first built in 1568 and is the oldest synagogue in India as well as the entire British Commonwealth. The interior is beautifully decorated with clear influence taken from the Indian trade routes of Europe, China, and the Middle East. This foreign influence is a direct reflection of the varying origins of the Jews of Kochi.
The Paradesi Synagogue is one of seven in Kochi, however it is the only one still functioning. The original synagogue was destroyed by the Portuguese in the 17th century and later rebuilt with the help of the Dutch.
