QUOTES-- Ambition Quotes From famous authors.

SHARE MARKET- RATIONAL & IRRATIONAL.

Hi Friends,  Stock Markets are basically irrational.  They are driven by almost everything except reason and logic, or rather, reason and logic are overshadowed by hopes, fears, greed, ambition, fads, hot tips, rumours, superstition, ignorance, fanciful projections, news headlines and numerous other irrational causes which are impossible to identify and list.  It is difficult to see how a rational investment policy can possibly succeed in such an irrational environment.  But surprisingly , it does.  In the long run rationality does pay.   The investor who can keep his head, while everyone around him is losing his, does succeed in the stock market.

The two strongest emotions operating in the stock market are greed and fear.  Greed is the dominant emotion in a booming market.  It makes individuals grasp and grab when they buy shares.  There is often a mad scramble to get on to  the stock market bandwagon during a boom. Share prices skyrocket to levels which lose all touch with reality.  On the other hand, fear takes over in a falling market.  Share prices nosedive and panic selling starts as investors and speculators scramble to get out before the prices fall further.  It is greed and fear that lead to excesses of over valuation and under valuation of shares in the stock market.  The rational investor takes advantage of these market over-reactions to make profits.  He buys when the shares are under priced and sells when they are overpriced.  The more irrational the market, the greater the opportunities for the rational investor to make big profits.  An irrational market provides rich money-making opportunities for the cool, objective, rational investor.  In short, an irrational market is a rational investor’s dream come true.

Good Luck.                                                        See You Later.

SHARE MARKET-- 10 Questions about Investing in Stocks That Every Beginner Asks.

Curious about investing in the stock market but still confused by its strange terms and conflicting headlines and advice? Here's the straight talk on 10 common questions novice investors usually ask.

1. Is there factual evidence that I'll make money buying stocks?

According to Standard & Poor's data, total annualized return of stocks from 1926 through 2013 was 9.9%. With the potential for those returns, however, comes greater risk. Despite all the expert advice you'll no doubt come across when researching specific stocks, there are no guarantees as to how a stock will perform; the broader market is impacted by so many forces that are uncontrollable and unpredictable -- including consumer emotion, political events, and natural disasters. That said, long-term historical market performance data demonstrates the potential benefit of investing in stocks. This is particularly true for long-term investors who can minimize their exposure to market volatility and avoid buying based on emotion and reacting to market downturns in a panic.

SHARE MARKET- SUCCESSFUL STOCK MARKET INVESTING MANTRAS AGAIN.

Hi Friends,   In the stock market, the heart of the investment process consists of selection, timing, and price.  It is all a question of selecting the right company, buying shares in it at the right time and price, and subsequently selling them at the right time and price.  Success on the stock market will therefore hinge on your ability to take the  right decisions with respect to selection, timing and price.  However, these decisions alone will not enable you to make the amount of money you want.  That will depend on the following four factors:  (i)  the amount of money you initially invest; (ii)  the period over which the money is invested; (iii)   the rate at which the invested capital appreciates in value;  and (iv)   the income you receive from your invested capital during this period. Therefore, to achieve investment success you  should keep these four factors in mind while taking decisions on selection, timing and price.

But this is not all.  Successful stock market investing goes far beyond selection, timing and price.   It involves the setting of personal investment objectives, formulating an investment plan and adopting a suitable investment strategy.  The overall objective of every investor is to make money.  To go further, it is to make money at a  rate that beats the rate of inflation.   In other words, the broad objective of all investment is to increase, or at least preserve, the purchasing power of invested capital.  But making money cannot possibly be the ultimate objective of life.  You may not be interested  in devoting your life to the endless pursuit of money for money’s sake.  Your needs and requirements for money may  be limited.
