Indians are a savings-friendly people.

We want to save more out of our disposable income (total income minus total expenses every month).
Despite these savings habits, we can go overboard with our expenses too:
Festivals and marriages
We love our festivals. And many of us will go to great lengths to celebrate festivals in style. Even if it means spending a lot and ending in debt.

Marriages are another drain on the finances. Parents stake a huge portion of their savings -- even take loans at times -- to get their children (or sisters/brothers) married.
Marriage over, there is a huge hole in the parents' savings, resulting in financial insecurity for the rest of their lives.
Quest for S-T-A-T-U-S
The need to keep up with friends/neighbours/relatives can drive Indians to spend way, way, beyond their means.

Telephonic interviews are conducted over the phone to pre-screen candidates in order to narrow the pool of applicants who will be invited for in-person interviews.
It is often considered the most difficult and first stage of the selection process and generally lasts for 10 to 15 minutes.
Interviews by director Roger Thomas and researcher Dr Susan Purdn of the American 'Social and Community Planning Research Center at The survey method' (SCPR) shows that candidates with knowledge and behaviour are detected properly in a telephonic interview which is otherwise not in general terms.
Here are some tips for doing well in a telephonic interview.

1. Be prepared

Since you may not know when to expect the telephonic interview, one should always be prepared for it.
Prepare yourself to answer all the tricky questions that will be asked.

Hi Friends,   The most important thing to remember before making any kind of investment is the current financial scenario of the investment destination-whether it is bank accounts, fixed deposits or in the stock.  These do not operate in a financial vacuum and are notorious for their illusive speculative-ness and other malpractices.  Reading , understanding, observing and internalizing market trends is an art-an art which can be perfected only after years of practice, patience and fortitude.  It is no child’s play and small investors with no experience of stock trading can be easy target for frauds.  Hence, it is extremely necessary that the investor  keeps an eye on the market, learns its operational norms, peculiar institutional behaviour and uninsured risks. Only after the investor, with or without the help of professional advisors, executes this plan of action can he/she hope top make any headway in terms of profits.

However the ground reality seems to be different.  Elated by the realization that they understand market jargons with the help of written material, investors indulge themselves in ill-advised dealings and end up incurring heavy losses.  Therefore, in order to  pick good stocks, it is important to read and understand the current market scenario in detail.

The next step, in the process of picking good stocks to invest in, is the knowledge of financial record of the target company.  Companies and corporations, however big or small, have often been found of malpractices while dealing in the stock market and hence it becomes absolutely essential for investors to run a background check before making any important investment decisions.  Before picking a stock for investing one’s money , one must determine the parent company’s moral and practical standing in the market, its production performance in the recent past, its record with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), its current situation and future plans of expansion in business and production.  Only after a careful consideration of all  these factors can one hope to make a truly informed decision.

Another factor to consider before arriving on the final verdict is the ‘Price: Earnings ratio.’  This ratio is one of the simplest of parameters to analyse the financial reliability of one’s investment destination and can be very useful in picking good stocks.  However, it has to be analysed with the assistance of professional advisors with the clear notion that in itself, it cannot guarantee financial returns.

The financial performance of the company selected by investors should also be known.  Debt equity ratio must be known.  Promoter pledging of shares if any, and if answer is yes  what percentage.  In the present market condition debt free company is better to invest.

Good Luck.                                                           See You Later

                Calming the muddy waters
A wise man was walking from one town to another with a few of his followers and they happened to pass a lake. So they stopped there to rest for a while and the wise man said to one of his followers . . . ‘I am very thirsty, could you please go and get me some water from that lake.’
As requested the follower walked to the lake and when he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water, and right at that moment, several bullock carts started crossing the lake. As a result of this, the water became very muddy and murky. The follower thought, how can I give this muddy water to my leader to drink? So he went back and told the wise man that the water in the lake was very muddy and not fit to drink.
After they had rested for about half an hour, the wise man again asked the same follower to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The follower obediently went to the edge of the lake and this time he found that all the mud had settled to the bottom and the water above it was crystal clear and looked fit to drink. So he filled his water bottle and took it to the wise man.
The wise man took the water bottle and drank, and then he looked up at the follower and said . . .  ‘see what you did to make the water clean and fit to drink, you let it be for a while and the mud settled down on its own so that could then get some clear drinking water for me.’
‘Your mind can also be like that lake when it is disturbed about something, but if you just let it be and give it a little time, it will most likely settle down on its own without you having to put in any effort at all to calm it.
