- Jesus answered, "The scripture says 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God'."

31 May 2019

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.

God doesn’t require us to succeed; he only requires that you try.

Prayer in action is love, love in action is service.

Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.

Let nothing perturb you, nothing frighten you.  All things pass.  God does not change.  Patience achieves everything.

Profound joy of the heart is like a magnet that indicates the path of life.

I think it is very good when people suffer.  To me that is like the kiss of Jesus.

Love is not patronizing and charity isn’t about pity, it is about love.  Charity and love are the same—with charity you give love, so don’t just give money but reach out your hand instead.

When you don’t have anything, then you have everything.

Each of us is merely a small instrument; all of us, after accomplishing our mission, will disappear.

Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.  Be the living expression of God’s kindness:  kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, and kindness in your smile.

Let us not be satisfied with just giving money.  Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them.  So spread your love everywhere you go.

I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.

I try to give to the poor people for love what the rich could get for money.  No, I wouldn’t touch a leper for a thousand pounds; yet I willingly cure him for the loi
 ve of God.

The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.
Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do.... but how much love we put in that action.

The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do t.

A poet visited Tenali Raman hoping to impress him with some poems he had written.  Raman asked him to leave the poems with him and promised to read them later.  The man, however, insisted on reading out the poems to him.  As the poet droned on Raman fell asleep.  When he woke up, the poet asked:  “Sir, shall I read the poems again?”  “Why?  I’ve already given you my opinion, haven’t I?”   “No,  Sir,”  said  the man.  “You fell asleep.”  “That’s right,”  replied Raman,  “When I fell asleep I gave my opinion.”

STOCK MARKET--Is there a proven method for profiting on investing in the stock market?

Yes! Its called buy-and-hold. The US stock market has proven time and again, that investing in it is profitable over the long haul. It has returned well over 10% annually, over the last 10 years and about 7% annually over the last 30. Even adjusted for inflation, that looks pretty profitable.

However, despite all those stats, there is no telling how profitable (if at all) it can be over the next 5 years or less. There are clear and present risks in adopting the buy and hold approach, as the returns are not linear. So, unless your time horizon (for realizing said returns) is much longer than that, simply holding on to your stock positions may not be the most ideal choice. You will need to learn how to hedge on those market risks. Portfolio diversification and periodic re-balancing of your stock allocations are some of the most common methods. Using stock options is a bit more sophisticated approach, but is fast becoming more popular.

STOCK MARKET--8 steps to select a stock to invest in Indian stock market:

Does the company have good fundamentals?
To find the answer to this question, there is a 2-minute drill to find a fundamentally strong company. Using this drill, you can filter the healthy companies so that you can proceed to investigate further. If the company is not fundamentally strong, there is no need to learn more about its products/services, competitors, future prospects etc.
You can move to the next steps only once you confirm that the company has given good past performance and is worth investing in. For this 2-minute drill, you need to look into the financials of the company. Here are 8 financial ratios and their trend that should be carefully noted in this step:
    1. Earnings Per Share (EPS) – Increasing for last 5 years
    2. Price to Earnings Ratio (P/E) – Low compared to companies in the same industry
    3. Price to Book Ratio (P/B) – Low compared companies in the same industry
    4. Debt to Equity Ratio – Should be less than 1 (Preferably debt<0.5 or Zero-Debt)
    5. Return on Equity (ROE) – Should be greater than 20%
    6. Price to Sales Ratio (P/S) – Smaller value is preferred
    7. Current Ratio – Should be greater than 1
    8. Dividend – Increasing for the last 5 years
If you are not familiar with these financial ratios, you can read more here: 8 Financial Ratio Analysis that Every Stock Investor Should Know
Once you are confident that the company fulfills most of the criteria mentioned above, then study the financial reports of the company. Reading financial reports (Profit & loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement) can take a little time. That’s why first make sure that the company passes the 2 min drill before you start investigating further. I have written a detailed post on how to read financial statements of a company, which you may find useful.

Hi friends, please read the following heart touching quotes.

An old man took his mobile phone to a repair shop. Technician: nothing is wrong with this phone. Old man with tears in his eyes said: Then why don’t my children ever call me?

Don’t love too soon, Don’t trust too fast, Don’t judge too soon. Don’t quit too early, Don’t expect too high, Don’t talk too much.

Never regret, if it is good, it is wonderful, if it is bad, it is experience.

Standing alone is better than standing with people who hurt you.

Five rules to live a happier life have yourself, Do good, Always forgive, Harm no one, Be positive.

Work late to spend freely & work hard to live easy.

Never take permanent decisions on temporary feelings.

Lovers are fantastic, best friends are awesome. But when both are the same persons then are no words to explaining.

Waiting is a sign of true love and patience. Any one can say I love you, but not everyone can wait and prove it is true.

The most hopeful word is “tomorrow “

GOOD LUCK                                                              see you later.

Hi friends, please read the positive, inspirational ,love quotes.

My brother is gay and my parents don’t care, as
long as he marries a doctor.

If you make laugh I am already 89% in love with you.

Always idiot who makes you laugh in his presence, will definitely make you cry in his absence...... because those idiots are our Real Friends.

We ignore  the ones who adore us, Adore the ones who ignore us, Love the ones who hurt us, and hurt the ones that love us.

Two concepts for a truly Happy life: 1.Use things, not people. 2.Love people, not things.

I live, I love, I laugh, I cry I am not perfect.  No one is not you or I.

This shirt is dry clean only which means it’s dirty.

It is really easy to cry in pain and easy to laugh in joy, but crying in joy and laughing in pain shows real spirit.

Some people just need a High-Five.

Fake friends believe in rumours, real friends believe in you.

Every morning you have two choice, continue to sleep with dreams or wake up and chase your dreams.  The choice is yours.

Men are afraid that women will laugh at them.  Woman are afraid that men will kill them.

Respect is for those who deserve it, not for those who demand it.

In bed  , it’s 6 AM you close your eyes for 5 minutes, it’s 7.45, at school it’s 1.30,  close your eyes for 5 minutes, it,s 1.31.

You can’t FACE the problem if the problem is your FACE.

Thanking you,                                                                   see you later.

STOCK MARKET--What is your take on the IDFC First Bank share, is it a good buy for long term (5 years +)?

IDFC First Bank was formed by the merger of Capital First and IDFC Bank in December 2018. It is going to declare its maiden results on 10th of May 2019. There are enough reasons to believe they would continue to grow exponentially in years to come.
Firstly, retail banks are safer bets compared to their corporate cousins. Retail bank loan portfolio is much more diversified and loan defaults are very low. IDFC got the banking license from RBI in 2015 and it tried to start retail business but due to its corporate background it was unable to focus on its retail business.
The merger of IDFC with the Capital First is a very big positive. Capital First is known for its phenomenal performance. The company had grown at a pace of 30–40 % CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) before its merger with the IDFC. Capital First was dealing in retail business and this is why IDFC opted to merge with this company.
The growth story of Capital First was achieved with the help from its Founder and Chairman Mr. V. Vaidyanathan. He is the current CEO and Managing Director of newly formed IDFC First Bank. He is the person who had transformed Capital First into a large retail financial institution with operations in 222 locations across India within six years. Between March 2010 to December 2018, he had grown the retail loan book from Rs. 94 Crores to Rs. 29,624 Crores, grew the equity capital from Rs. 690 Crores ($ 118 mn) to Rs. 3993 crores ($ 600m), reduced Gross NPA from 5.28% to 1.94%, got the long-term credit rating upgraded from A+ to AAA. The Market Cap of the company has increased from Rs. 7.90 billion ($ 122m) to Rs. 7628 Crores ($ 1.17b). Mr. vaidyanathan has the experience of building retail business of ICICI bank from its inception to a large business of over USD 35 billion and 1400 branches across mortgages, auto loans, commercial vehicles, credit cards, among others.

1.     Technical analysis is the study of past market action to try to gauge what the market might do in the future. At its most basic, it is the study of price. Fundamental analysis involves analyzing the characteristics of a company in order to estimate its value. Technical analysis takes an entirely different approach; it doesn't care about the "value" of a company. Technical analysis is only interested in the price movements in the market.

Hi Friends,   You see here the five success mantras useful to your life.

I Forget Luck, Live by Intent.
A few things may happen by chance.  But if you wait for the chance, good things will happen to you only when you are in your grave because things may take their time.  Even quantum theory says that if you try, you can actually walk through a wall once in a “zillion” times because there is a pulsation of particles happening and you may walk through.  It is just that before you reach that one zillionth time, you’ll have a cracked skull.  When you live by chance , you also live in fear and anxiety.  When you live by intent and capability, it does not matter what is happening or not happening, at least you are in control of what is happening to you.  It is a more stable life.

Stop Fixating on Failure.
If you fall down 100 times in the day, it is 100 lessons learnt.
If you commit yourself like this to creating, what you really care for, your mind gets organized.  Once your mind gets organized , your emotions will get organized because the way you think is the way you feel.  Once your thought and emotion are organized, your energies and your very body will get organized.  Once all these four are organized in one direction, your ability to create and manifest what you want is phenomenal.  You are the creator in many ways.

Work with Clarity.
If you want to walk through a crowd of people, if your vision is clear and you can see where everybody is, you can just walk through the whole crowd without touching anyone.  If your vision is not clear but you have confidence, you will walk over everybody.  Because there is no clarity, people think that confidence is a good substitute.  It just cannot be.  Let’s say you make all the major decisions in your life like this;  get yourself a coin, flip it.  If it’s heads, it’s one way, tails the other.  It works 50% of the time.  If you are right only 50% of the time , there are only two professions that you can keep – either a weather man or an astrologer.  You cannot keep any other job on this planet.

STOCK MARKET--What are the best two or three indicators for technical and fundamental analysis?

Simplicity still works in investing/trading, and below are my favourite indicators for both technical and fundamental. Some traders prefer to use highly complex methods while others use extremely simple and free resources. You will be surprised to know that the results of both are extremely close.
Fundamental analysis:
1.       COT report (Top down approach): They measure the number of futures contracts held by major participants. This is my favorite market technique for longer-term trading (3–6 months). Now, you can leverage this powerful indicator and turn in into a leading one. Many would not be very familiar with this. To be specific, the aim should be, What about trying to infer the intentions of the smart money? After all, only they can impact the prices and cause major shifts. So, is it possible? The concept is simple, you take the COT report, decompose it by players, calculate their positions, do some basic statistics to further understand where are the positions now, and then chart the results with the spot prices to give you a better idea of what you’re dealing with.

STOCK MARKET-- how to predict stock movement

Wish you could gauge equity market sentiments before investing in stocks? Though predicting equity markets and stock movements are not easy, equity analysts use many methods and indicators to predict market movements.

These indicators are both fundamental (price-to-earning, or P/E, ratio, price-to-book value, or P/B, ratio, interest rates) and technical (put-call ratio, volumes traded).

EXPERT TIP:What to do with shares with no buyers?

While indicators such as P/E and P/B ratios are often quoted, we will discuss some indicators that are widely used by traders and fund managers to predict market movements but are not known to many retail investors.

**Dividend Yield**

Dividend yield is calculated by dividing the annual dividend paid on each share by its current price.

Dividend yield=(Annual dividend/current price)*100

For example, if a stock paid an annual dividend of Rs 22 and the current market price is Rs 440, the dividend yield of the stock is 5 per cent. So, what does dividend yield tell about the future price of a stock?
If the dividend yield is low, the share price is relatively higher than the dividend paid and hence the stock may be overvalued. This indicates a possible decline in the future.

A high dividend yield, on the other hand, means subdued interest in the stock and that the company is trying to woo investors by paying higher dividends. It means the stock price is undervalued.

EXPERT TIP: Invest in realty stocks with care

This can be extended to a stock index too. One can calculate the aggregate dividend yield of an index, compare it with past dividend yields and see if the current yield is low or high. A low dividend yield indicates an overpriced market and vice versa.

Let's demonstrate it by a simple calculation. According to the National Stock Exchange data, the average dividend yield of the Nifty in the last couple of months has been around 1.5 per cent. On 2 November 2011, the Nifty closed at 5,263. The current dividend yield is Rs 79.

EXPERT TIP: Stocks that held strong amid sell-off

If analysts expect Nifty companies to increase their dividend payouts by 10 per cent every year for the next three years and investors expect at least a 4 percentage point premium (12.5 per cent) on equity returns over the risk-free 91-day Treasury bill rate, which is currently 8.5 per cent, then,

Expected dividend=current dividend x 1.1
Present value=Expected dividend/(1.125)

The expected dividend in the 4th year will be (105.15 x 1.1)=Rs 115.66

The value of the index at the end of the 3rd year (Terminal Value)=105.15/(.125-0.1)=4,206

The present value of the terminal value=4,206/1.125=3,739

The present value of the index is the sum of the present value of dividend paid during the three years and the present value of the terminal index value

Hence, at its present value (5,263), the Nifty is overvalued and may fall in the immediate future.

(The above calculation is purely based on assumptions)
**Insider Moves**

Though the name smells of something unlawful, not all insider trades are illegal. According to Indian laws, an insider is a top official, director or shareholder who owns 10 per cent or more shares and has access to unpublished price-sensitive information about the company.

EXPERT TIP: Tips to diversify commodities portfolio | How to deal with share market rumours

A member of the board, merchant banker, share transfer agent, debenture trustee, broker, portfolio manager, investment advisor, sub-broker or even a relative of any such individuals is also an insider.

Hi Friends,  Please read the inspirational quotes of Life.

Life is either  a daring adventure or nothing.

Life is like a game of cards.  The hand that is dealt you represents determinism;  the way you play it is.

Change is not  merely necessary to life, it is life.

Life is short, art long, opportunity fleeting, experience treacherous, judgment difficult.

Life is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think.

There is only one thing that remains to us, that cannot be taken away: to act with courage and dignity and to stick to the ideals that have given meaning to life.
Life is a play.  It’s not its length, but its performance that counts.

We become happier, much happier, when we realize life is an opportunity rather than an obligation.

Life is like a library owned by the author.  In it are a few books which he wrote himself, but most of them were written for him.

QUOTES--An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.

The phrase "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" is used frequently to describe an approach of revenge and of disposing justice in which, people retaliate toward any harm done or losses incurred by them, by trying to cause equal harm to anyone seen to be the cause of the harm.
An approach like this tends to increase enmity and ill feeling towards each other among all people. A person may cause some harm to another unintentionally and perhaps without any fault on his or her part. It is also possible that a individual who is seen as the perpetrator of the harm has not caused it at all. But when the attitude of the people is to retaliate and take revenge in equal measure, the party harmed initially will inflict similar harms on the party supposed to be the cause of the harm.
Unfortunately the party thus becoming the target of retaliation is not likely to accept the retaliation as justified, and will indulge in counter retaliation. Thus a never ending chain of retaliation and counter retaliation will be started resulting in widespread violence and fight among people. Everyone in the society will be hurt seriously by such approach.
Figuratively we say that if we try to take an eye of a person or his near or dear one because he or she has caused me or my near and dear one to loose an eye, the other person will react in similar manner and this will start a chain reaction leading to people from both the warring factions becoming blind. And if this principle is adopted by all the people in the world the entire world will become blind.

STOCK MARKET--10 things a new stock investor needs to know

So, you have decided to start investing in the stock market - on your own. You have decided not to go by the mutual fund route [alone] and you want to test the waters yourself. The Indian stock market has done pretty well over the past one year, and you want to try your hand at picking stocks. Not a bad idea, I must say. Peter Lynch, the legendary stock investor, said, 'Everyone has the brainpower to follow the stock market. If you made it through fifth-grade math, you can do it.' So, you can indeed invest like a stock market rock star. However, there are a handful of things you must know before you dive into the stock market. You can save yourself a lot of time, effort and money if you follow the advice in this article.
      Get trading and demat accounts

You will need a stock-trading account and a demat account to start investing in the stock market directly. There are many brokerage firms, and you can choose among them. One of the easiest things you can do is contact your bank. Most banks provide brokerage and demat services. Since you would already have an established relationship history with your bank, you would feel more comfortable.

Opt for an online trading account

You can place your stock-purchase orders over the phone or online. An online trading account brings a lot of transparency into your transactions. With an online account not only can you place orders yourself, you can also track what is happening to your order in real time. Also, never let the broker or anyone else trade on your behalf. You should be the only one who has access to your stock-trading account.
